Providing Empathic Evidence-Based Care for Adolescents and Adults

Welcome to the Practice of Dr. Lauren Hammond

I am a clinical psychologist, licensed in the state of Washington, and also permitted to practice telehealth in 40 states through PSYPACT* (see states listed below and for more information click here).

I specialize in working with individuals who are having difficulty regulating intense emotions, have chronic depression or anxiety, have experienced trauma, are struggling with self-harm or suicidal ideation, have been diagnosed with borderline personality disorder, are looking to learn new coping skills, are struggling with life transitions, are experiencing interpersonal difficulties, or are exploring their gender identity or sexual orientation. I enjoy working with older teens (16+) and adults.

I approach therapy primarily from behavioral, cognitive, and mindfulness-based perspectives. I have specific expertise in:

  • Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT) and Behavioral Activation (BA) for depression and anxiety.

  • Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) for borderline personality disorder, as well as a range of additional disorders with emotion dysregulation.

  • Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT), Prolonged Exposure (PE), and Dialectic Behavior Therapy Prolonged Exposure (DBT PE) for trauma, traumatic invalidation, and posttraumatic stress disorder.

  • Anti-oppressive care for the LGBTQIA+ community, including gender identity and sexual orientation exploration, as well as offering assessments and letters for gender affirming surgery.
